Hole plugging • When water is used in conjunction
with the drilling of seismic shot holes and artesian
flaw is not encountered at the surface; seismic hole
aro to be filled with a high grade bentonitelwater
slurry mixture. The slurry shall have a density that
is at least four percent (00 greater than the density
of fresh water; the slurry shall also have a marsh
funnel viscosity of at least sixty (60) secondrper
quart. The hole will be filled with the slurry to a
depth of three (3) feet below ground level. A non=
metallic permaplug will be set at three (3) feet bell)w
ground level and the remaining hole will be filled and
tamped to the surface with cuttings and native soil.
2 When drilling with air only, and in completely dry
boles, plugging may be accomplished by returning the
Cuttings to the hole and tamping the returned cuttings
to a depth of three (3) feet. A permaplug will be set at
3 feet and topped with more cuttings and soil as described
above. A small mound will be left over the hole for
settling allowance.
3. The site around the hole must be cleaned up and surplus
sittings leveled. Seeding of the disturbed area may be
required.
ABANDONMENT OF SHALL01,11 DRILL HOLES
NO WATER OR COAL ZONES DRILLED THROUGH OR INTO
