2008
Annual Report
Mott Gravel Pitt
M-1980-049
Mining operations were conducted in the Mott Pit during 2008. About 4,000 cubic yards of topsoil and
overburden was removed from about 2,000 square yards of the permitted area. 5730 tons of crushed rock
and roadbase was produced.
We also installed a truck scale on the permitted area.
Product sales this year totaled 325 tons of screened 3/4 to 1 '/z -inch screened rock, 840 tons of 3/4-inch
roadbase, 2,407 tons of 1 '/2-inch road base, 949 tons of 3-inch roadbase, 564 tons of pit run and 1,031
tons of dirt. Year-end inventory was 1,206 tons of 3-inch roadbase.
Enclosed is a new detailed topo map of the permitted area showing product stockpile, mining face and
overburden piles. This map was produced after most activity this year.
We have applied to remove 2.2 acres from the permit area. Most of it has not been disturbed and the
balance is adequately vegetated with native plants. We are also planning to apply for modification of the
permit area to the northeast to include previously created overburden piles. This will be submitted within
a week or two.
