• 2.05.3
Run-off from the loadout disturbance is generally contained in two sediment
ponds which contain the run-off from the batch weigh loadout and most of
the disturbance to the east. Run-off from a transfer tower the disturbance
associated with a conveyor support and the disturbed area along the western
loadout track will not be contained in sediment ponds. There are eleven
SAE areas where run-off will be filtered through a sediment fence before it
leaves the permit area. Sample points for the SAEs will be located near the
sediment fences. The design forthe alternative sediment control devices are
presented in Exhibit 8 pages Exh8- 187 through 189 and the locations are
shown on Map 20.
During 2002, fourteen exploration holes were drilled to identify the burn line
in the B-Seam. Hole locations are shown on Map 9, Hydrologic Monitoring
Location Map. The Operator is considering constructing a new B-Seam
portal in lieu of accessing the B-Seam through ramps from the D-Seam. An
accurate location of the burn line is necessary to determine if a new portal is
feasible. The explorations holes will be drilled with a small skid mounted drill.
Hole diameters will be 6-inches or less. The average hole depth is 350-feet
• with a range in depth from 80 to 510 feet. The holes will be sealed in
accordance with Rule 4.07. Run-off from the drill pads and associated light
use roads/trails will be contained by sediment ponds B & C.
During 2002, one exploration hole KM-3 was drilled to assess the presence
of water in the old King Mine workings. The hole location is shown on Map 9,
Hydrologic Monitoring Location Map. The hole was sealed in accordance
with Rule 4.07. Run-off from the drill pads will be contained by a sediment
fence as described above.
During 2003, the Operator drilled five exploration holes. Three were drilled
along Terror Creek and two were drilled in Stephens Draw.
During 2003, the Operator drilled fourteen geotechnical holes and three
alluvial wells for the proposed new gob pile. Drilling was from new light use
roads so drill pads were not required.
During 2004, the Operator did not drill any gob vent holes or exploration
holes.
. During 2005, the Operator drilled five gob vent holes.
MR-75
2.05 - 35 -
03/07
A PP~ov~
3~9~07
