(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID M-1986-007
INSPECTION DATE: 02/12/2009 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: FC'S
OBSERVATIONS
This was a follow-up monitoring inspection conducted by Eric Scott and Tony Waldron of DRMS for the Masonville Stone site. The
inspection was prompted by a problem with missing permit boundary markers and the relationship to the observed disturbed area noted
during a previous inspection conducted on 12/18/08. DRMS met with Glenn Southwick at the site at approximately 0930. The site
entrance is located on the south side of Larimer County 29 RD approximately 100 feet west of the intersection of 29 RD and 27 RD.
The required postings were present at the site entrance.
Mr. Southwick had either re-located or replaced the four boundary makers that were intended to outline the four sides of the permit
area as directed in the previous inspection report. However, these markers as replaced did not seem to encompass the entire disturbed
area of the site. DRMS used a Trimble GeoXT GPS unit to define the boundary of the site as defined by the markers established by
Mr Southwick. The GPS unit obtained a real-time correction signal in the field, and therefore field data was accurate to approximately
+/- 30cm. After the permit boundary was established, DRMS used the GPS unit to outline the approximate disturbed area associated
with the site. As can be clearly seen on the attached map, there is a discrepancy between the permit boundary and disturbed area that
needs to be resolved. It should be noted that the attached map IS NOT suitable for use as the site permit boundary map, but was only
generated to depict the existing discrepancy between the permit area and disturbed area.
A Technical Revision to adjust the boundary of the site shall be submitted to the Division with the appropriate fees within 60 days of
the last inspection to avoid possible violations and penalties. This revision shall include a surveyed map of the permit boundary, with
distance and bearings from permanent established markers. The map should include both permit boundary and disturbed area of the
site, and be overlain on a base map consisting of a current air photo if possible. Current acreage of the permit and the disturbed area
should also be provided.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Glenn Southwick
OPERATOR:
STREET: 13800 Silver Springs Rd
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Jay Em, WY 82219
cc: ?
