0 Public Notice <br />Lorencito Coal Company, 4422 Bryan Station Road, Lexington, Kentucky, 40516, <br />has filed with the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, an <br />application to renew permit C-96-084 for the Lorencito Canyon Mine located <br />approximately 20 miles west of Trinidad, Colorado, Townships 33 and 34 South, <br />Range 66 West, Section 33 and other unplatted lands on the Hill Ranch. The Hill <br />Ranch is generally located southeast of Weston, Colorado. The mine permit area <br />is approximately bounded by the South Fork of the Purgatoire River on the west, <br />Highway 12 on the north, Lorencito and Bonita Canyons on the east and little <br />Alamosa Canyon on the south. Map 2.03.4-1 and Exhibit 2 of the permit <br />application contain the lengthy, detailed legal description. These lands can be <br />located on the Little Pine Canyon USGS topographical 7.5 minute quadrangle <br />map. <br />The renewal will allow Lorencito Coal Company's mining permit to be extended for <br />fire additional years after its current expiration date of November 7, 2007. <br />The renewal application can be viewed at the Las Animas County Court House in <br />the County Clerk's office during normal business hours. <br />Written comments on the application may be submitted to, and additional <br />information obtained from, the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567.
