11) The portable enclosed crusher and screen plant do use sprays for dust control, although the
gravel will be somewhat wet after excavation from below water level, and the need for
additional water in the operation will be minimal. Estimated use for the crusher/screen plant is
2% of the annual tonnage run through the plant, approximately 52,000 tons per year. This
results in an additional consumptive use of .85 Acre-Feet per year. Pond evaporation is
estimated at 9.37 Acre-Feet per year.
12) A seven foot (7') overburden berm will be used along the boundaries of the pit to isolate water
on and off the property. The slopes of this berm will be 3HAV. The irrigation ditch north of the
access road and the stockpiled overburden berm will prevent any water from entering the
property. The area North of the permit area drains away from the pit and no undisturbed water
can enter the permit area in these locations. Since the operation involves pure excavation of
the resource, all water from the pit areas and facility areas will be detained within the permit
boundary for the 100 year event.
We hope this addresses DRMS concerns.
