amount of work required to re-grade the settlement area has been very minor since 2003
and in 2007 and 2008 the settlement maintenance only amounted to repairing cracks.
Sunnyside believes this minimal level of activity could have no impact on water quality.
The activity and impact it served to monitor has been completed and reclaimed for 15
years. The data collected is attached along with a graph showing the parameters that
varied the most through the monitoring period, manganese and zinc. The data and graph
show that water quality has been reasonably stable over the monitoring period. Therefore,
Sunnyside requests that DRMS allow Sunnyside to eliminate EC-1 as a permit
monitoring requirement.
Included with this request for a Technical Revision to the permit monitoring requirements
for the Sunnyside Basin permit area is a $173 check for the application fee. Please
contact me if you have any questions on this Technical Revision or if this submittal is not
approvable as submitted.
Sincerely,
90" -S' _
Larry Perino
Reclamation Manager
1)
