Westem Bionomics LLC 348 River Road
Ph: 970-870-9031 at Springs, 970-870-8162
v Nahaal Resmsm Mw gmvm t Se*Acm Mobile: 970-846-8223 kscolfer@msn.com
January 15, 2009
Precision Excavating, Inc.
ATTN: Dave Zehner
PO Box 790
Hayden, CO 81639
RE: Amendment to Camilletti - Milner Pit #2 Special Use Permit
Dear Dave:
A jurisdictional wetland delineation report has been prepared by Western Bionomics for the purposes of the
Camilletti-Milner Pit #2 mine boundary amendment. Prior to preparation of this jurisdictional wetland
delineation report, background information was reviewed, individuals familiar with the project were
interviewed, and maps, aerial photos, and soil map unit descriptions of the project area were obtained by
Western Bionomics. The project area was examined on June 26, 2008 in order to determine the types and
locations of various plant communities on the parcel. Ecosystem parameters (vegetation, soils, and hydrology)
were. characterized and recorded as per the protocol required by Army Corps of Engineers. Wetland Delineation
Manual (1987). Based on observations of wetland parameters, wetland boundaries were designated, surveyed,
and located on maps with respect to the project datum. A wetland ecosystem functions and values assessment
was conducted for the delineated wetland.
The results of the wetland delineation indicate that a total of 1.95 acre of moderate quality wetland is present on
the expansion parcel. The wetland delineation was verified in the field by Mr. Nathan Green of the Grand
Junction Army Corps of Engineers office. Pre-application consultation with the Corps of Engineers was
initiated during the summer of 2008. The Corps has indicated that an Individual Permit Application will be
required for the project.
As you may know, wetland impacts required to mine this site are minimal, in comparison to other recently
proposed gravel pits in Routt County. I will continue to work with Chris Rundall and you to prepare and submit
the individual 404 permit application to the Army Corps of Engineers.
Sincerely,
Weste mics LC
Kell offer
Prin pal
cc: Mr. John Vanderbloemen
