File No. M-1977-159, Wyoming Minerals Corp., Grover Test Site, 7.5 acres, located approximately 4
miles southwest of Grover, Weld County, Colorado
February 1977: leaching of uraniferous sandstone unit using injection and recovery wells initiated.
July 1977: Application for section 110 limited impact permit filed.
October 1977: 110 permit issued, $2500 bond.
May 1978: Leaching concluded, ground water restoration initiated.
February 1979: Ground water restoration completed, monitoring continued through first half of 1980.
October 1980: Water Quality Control Commission determines that ground water was restored as required under
a subsurface disposal permit granted by the commission in September 1976.
1980 and 1981: Facilities demolished, wells plugged, ponds removed, surface reclaimed.
September 1983: Division conducts final inspection, releases bond and terminates file.
File No. M-1981-045, Union Oil Co., Keota Project, 2000 acres, located at and surrounding town of
Keota, Weld County, Colorado
March 1981: Application for section 112 permit filed; application states that project is a joint venture of Union
Oil and Power Resources Corp., with Union Oil as applicant.
May 1981: Mined Land Reclamation Board continues consideration of the application indefinitely.
August 1981: Union Oil notifies Division that they have pulled out of venture.
June 1982: Power Resources provides status update stating they are investigating joint venture participation and
will continue permitting efforts as soon as practical.
August 1985: Division inspects site, determines that no mining has occurred, terminates file, and states in report
that reactivation would require new permit application. Copies of report mailed to Union Oil, Casper Wyoming
office, and to Power Resources are returned as undeliverable.
