Box 98, Loma, CO, 81524, has submitted a complete <br />application for a technical revision to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety for its <br />McClane Canyon Mine, mining permit No. C-1980-004. The proposed revision will provide for <br />the construction of a new coal mine waste disposal area in the area where the existing coverfill <br />and topsoil piles are located. A new pond has been designed and will be constructed in the <br />sagebrush flats south of the mine office building and south of McClane Creek. The existing <br />topsoil stockpile and material storage area will be relocated. <br />The McClane Canyon Mine is located approximately 19 miles north of Loma, CO along State <br />Highway 139. East Salt Creek is immediately west of the permit boundary. The permit area is <br />encompassed within the following lands: <br />Township 7 South. Range 102 West. 6`h P.M. <br />Section 3: Portions of lot 14 <br />Section 15: All <br />Section 16: E1/2 <br />Section 21: EI/2, EI/2WI/2, SWIANWIA, NWIASWI/4 <br />Section 22: All <br />Section 27: N"/2 <br />Section 28: NW'/4NE'/4, NE'/4NW'/4 <br />The location of these sections is contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Howard <br />Canyon and Garvey Canyon Quadrangle maps. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Mesa <br />County Clerk and Recorder's office, 544 Rood, Grand Junction, CO. A copy of the approved <br />permit application document, as well as the technical revision application, are available at <br />the Denver and Grand Junction offices of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />[Room 215, 1313 Sherman St., Denver, CO 80203; (303) 866-3567; and 101 South 3rd, <br />Suite 301, Grand Junction, CO 81501, (970) 242-5025]. Written comments regarding this <br />application may be submitted to and additional information may be obtained from the Denver <br />office of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. Phone inquiries should be directed <br />to the Grand Junction office. Written comments must be received by the Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety within 10 days after the date of this publication in order to be <br />considered.
