The McClane Canyon Mine is an underground coal operation <br />approximately 19 miles north of Loma, on private property and lands managed by the Bureau of <br />Land Management, in Garfield County, Colorado. The proposed action is construction of a coal <br />mine waste disposal site within the McClane Canyon Mine permit area, near the existing <br />sediment pond and soil stockpiles. The disposal site would disturb approximately 4.75 acres and <br />would include a new sedimentation pond in addition to soil stockpiles. <br />The letter states the Division is coordinating with your office on evaluation of the potential <br />impacts to threatened or endangered species, or to wildlife species otherwise protected by <br />Federal law.
