would allow us to have equipment on the same floor we are currently allowed to load out from and always
maintain the safe buffer zone that currently exists. No equipment would at any time be in the lower
benched area of the quarry. At this point the road would only be mined to the floor elevation which is
7200 feet. This is the final elevation by our mining plan for the stockpile area and the mined area in front
of the current slide. Over the years the stockpile area depicted by the reddish rectangle east of the haul road
has accumulated material. At the time we are removing the haul road we would also reprocess the
accumulated material that has built up over time.
Lastly we would like to build a north access road from the north peak following the line on the photograph.
The road is allowed under our mining plan but was never built. There is a D9 Caterpillar that was working
the north peak the morning of the slide. Along with the pickup fuel truck that is also stranded at the same
location there is enough equipment and fuel to build a road down the north face of the north peak. This
was the anticipated location within the mining plan.
From the preliminary observations the north peak has been virtually unaffected by the slide. We have not
seen an indication that it is moving. Obviously we will have an advanced monitoring plan in place prior to
any mining but would like your input as soon as possible.
Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
M.
