We are
happy to respond to your concerns regarding the Fuel Storage Facility and the Thickener
Maintenance Access Vault.
Fuel Storage Facility: The proposed facility is a fully enclosed, spill-proof unit that is
pre-cast and not embedded in the ground. The concrete slab that the unit mounts on is
also a pre-cast unit that rests on the ground surface. Neither of these concrete items will
require demolition as they will retain value and will most certainly be sold or moved to
another site within our company. We anticipate the unit will have salvage value,
however removal costs would likely not exceed $1,000.00, far less than the resale value
of the unit. I have enclosed copies of the brochure from the manufacturer of the vault
unit and am certain that you will find this style of fuel containment meets the highest
standards. Again, we are proposing to locate a dual compartment unit with 2-250 gallon
compartments. The dimensions of this unit are: 7'3"x5'6"x7', the slab dimensions are:
135"x90"x9".
Thickener Maintenance Access Vault: This concrete structure will be reinforced with
steel and be enclosed on all sides. Consistent with the mill structure, this vault will not
be removed during final reclamation of the site. The vault will be compatible with the
anticipated end-use of the facility. We are proposing no additional cost for the removal
of this structure.
