G£YERAL CONDITIONS <br />The dam will be located in the North:vest one-quarter of the Southwest <br />one-quarter of Section 23, To:•mship 6 North, Range 91 West. of the sixth <br />principle meridian. <br />Drainage above *.he dam is anproYi.mately 677 acres. The count*yside <br />is gently rolling to steep. Land slopes may vary 1'o to 25°% with the <br />drainage basin at the dam site ranging betv:een 1°~ to 2'~. The majority <br />of the area has fair vegetative cover consisting of sagebrush, oakbrush, <br />and ser•ricebe:ry :•rith a grass understcry. The remaining area is in <br />cropland consisting of awheat-fallow rotation. The elevation ranges <br />from 6275 feet at the dam site to approximately 7900 feet at the upper- <br />most portion of the arainage area. <br />The drainage route dormst:eam from the dam site terminates in approxi- <br />mately 1.8 miles at the Yampa River. In the area between the Coyote <br />Dam and the vampa and along the associated drainage, there are no <br />buildings or houses. <br />PLANS FOR ABANL`ONMENT <br />The Coyote impoundment at this time will have a projected usefulness <br />of 5 to 10 years, with a ma:cimum life of 35 years. In any case, the <br />impoundment :will most likely be considered active for the 35 year period. <br />This means that it :vill be maintained and inspected as required during <br />'the 35 year duration. <br />At the close of the 35 year period, the party that would assume the lease <br />on the property would be given the follo:ving options. <br />1. Assume responsibility for the Coyote impoundment, therefore, <br />inspecting and maintaining it as required. <br />2. Allow Utah International Inc. to remove the embankment and <br />appurtenances.
