!~
Trapper Mining Inc.
Craig, Colorado
DAM CONSTRUCTION CERTIFICATION
I, Collin R. Fay, a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado, in ac-
cordance with 2 CCR 407-2, Section 4.05.6(7), certify that Johnson Dam No. 7R, lo-
cated in Section 27, T 6 N, R 91 W, 6th PM, was inspected by me during construc-
tion. This reconstruction of Johnson Dam No. 7 was begun on June 4, 1987, and
completed on September 12, 1987. I certify that the embankment and spillway were
built as designed and the resulting Johnson sedimentation system will pertorm equally
as well or better than the system previously in place. One minor modification, reloca-
tion of the spillway from the east side of the embankment to the west side of the em-
bankment, was made during construction. This modification, authorized by me, was
made to accomodate field conditions and did not alter the hydrologic characteristics
of the resulting sedimentation pond.
During construction, this dam was visually inspected daily to insure compliance with
prudent construction methods. Compaction was accomplished by laying fill material
in thin horizontal layers and compacting with a vibratory roller compactor, a dozer,
and/or scrapers. Standard Proctor densities were determined in our lab using
methods outlined in AASHO Standard Method T99-61. Compacted density and mois-
ture content of the placed fill material was monitored using a nuclear density probe to
ensure adequate compaction.
4sAp0 ~cC~AO
~O P.~AI1 ~/' f/f.r~ / ~
gapQ-e,,...,,• 5~.,
~O~z R\GHARU~ :F,o: -
s ~; J ° ~; o; Collin R.
