Cattany <br />Denver <br />CO 80203 Division Director <br />, Natural Resource Trustee <br />Re: Seneca H-W Mine (Permit No. C-1982-057) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 62 (TR-62) <br />Response to Midterm Adequacy Review <br />Dear Ms. Johnson: <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 4, 2009, an application to revise coal mining operations at the <br />Seneca II-W Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Seneca Coal Company, <br />LLC. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This Technical Revision application provides updated post-mining topography maps that accurately reflect the currently <br />approved post-mining topography, an updated hydrologic monitoring map to depict currently approved monitoring locations, <br />and revised information regarding water rights and replacement. <br />The surface coal reining operation is on land located approximately 9 miles South of Hayden, Colorado. The permit area is <br />further described as follows: <br />T5N, R88W; All of Section 15; Portions of Sections 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 34, and 35 <br />T6N, R88W; Portions of Sections 14, 23 and 24 <br />T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 17, 18, 19 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Hayden Gulch, Hayden, Dunckley & <br />Mt. Harris. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of <br />publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Hayden Public Library, <br />201 E. Jefferson Avenue, Hayden, CO 81639-1813, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written <br />comments, contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, <br />(303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen <br />(15) days of this letter.
