Stark
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Technical Revision No. 79, Revision to Spoil Grading and PMT Update for the West Pit,
Colowyo Coal Mine, Permit No. C-81-019.
Dear Mr. Stark,
Enclosed please find two copies of materials provided for Technical Revision No. 79. This change to the
permit updates Map 29 - Spoil Grading and Map 29A - Spoil Grading South Taylor. The revised Map 29
lays out an updated re-grade plan that reflects delays incurred as a result of High Wall Miner activities and
negotiations with the Division in regards to TR-63. This plan demonstrates Colowyo's plan for re-grading
the approximately 430 acres of disturbance in the West Pit, including Hink's Peak, as well as tie-in of the
East Pit. The time frames related to each individual spoil grading boundary have been updated to show this
restructured plan. Map 29A has updated the teal PMT boundary to include a small area that was previously
attached to the Section 16 Spoil grading Boundary Block for 2008-2012 on Map 29. Maps 29 and 29A are
included for the Division's ease of incorporation into the permit.
Also included with the revision package is an application form, the public notice and an index sheet. Should
you have any questions or require additional information, please feel free to contact me at (970) 824-1578.
Sincerely,
Ryan Pawlowski
Environmental Engineer
Encl. 2 copies
Cc: file CF 1.1.2.68
Environmental Engineer
970-824-1578
