6. Rio Blanco County Impacts and Environmental Impacts <br />The impacts to Rio Blanco County will be limited. Minimal dust is expected from the operation due to <br />the wet nature of the pit and roads being watered as needed. Traffic will enter County Road 5 then <br />access Highway 64 and will travel primarily south on County Road 5 but could go in either direction <br />depending on sales. No new impacts to county services will occur. The long term effect of the <br />operation will be beneficial to the environment by providing an aesthetically pleasing lake with a <br />wetland fringe and very large wetland shelf that can be used by wildlife. Impacts to Rio Blanco County <br />and the surrounding landowners are discussed in detail in the Special Use Application. To our <br />knowledge no gravel pit in the State of Colorado has designated such a large acreage (19.45 acres) for <br />wetland creation. <br />White River City Pit, August 08 D-11
