I11. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Munger Canyon Mine conducted by Mike Boulay of the Division
of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety on January 21, 2009. I was not accompanied by an operator
representative during the inspection. Weather conditions were clear and cold. Ground conditions were
snow covered.
Availability of Records
During the last complete inspection of the mine site the availability of records were thoroughly
reviewed on 12/04/08. Two items were noted missing from the required records. These include a
current Insurance Certificate and the most recent reclamation cost estimate from Permit Renewal No.
5. 1 met with Gary Isaac (Mine Manager) during this inspection and we located both documents in his
files. The record books that are maintained at the site were updated accordingly.
Roads
The access road to the mine site was deemed unsafe to travel on due to snow packed and very icy
conditions. The road had not been plowed since the time of the last inspection and considerable snow
has fallen in the interim. There was no activity at the mine site and it did not appear that any one has
traveled on the access road recently. No problems were noted with this inspection.
