• (b)(iii) Ground and Surface Water Monitoring Plan: Results of ground and surface water monitoring are incorporated in the Hydrology section of the permit application, pages 38 - 45ii, and in annual hydrologic reports submitted to the Division. Monitoring schedules described in the Hydrology section were used to collect baseline data. The following is the current monitoring schedule. A. Ground Water 1. Mine Inflows -The Blue Ribbon Mine was sealed in 1986; therefore, no further mine inflow studies or mine inflow maps will be prepared. 2. Alluvial Well -The alluvial well was eliminated during reclamation work in 1986; therefore, no further monitoring of it will be done. 3. Springs -The spring at the base of the bench near the former pond 2 was collected in the south underdrain during the bench stabilization project during 1984 and 1985, so it will be monitored with the underdrains. The spring near the south end of the disturbance boundary on the haul road switchback never flowed enough water to measure so it will no longer be monitored. • The flow in the draw north of the mine was monitored as a spring. Monitoring on this draw will be discontinued. 4. Restabilized Bench Piezometers -Four piezometers, P-1 thru P-4, were installed during the bench restabilization project in 1985. Two piezometers, P-5 & P-6, were installed on the face of the bench late in 1989. The piezometers will be monitored quarterly forwater level. Results of monitoring will be submitted to the Division in the annual hydrologic report. A 1993 bench slump occurred immediately south of monitoring point P-6. The slump distorted (pushed out) the cover material where P-6 was located. P-6 was destroyed when the bench slump was regraded.
