Areas for reclamation were calculated as follows: <br />Bench stabilization 5.5 acres <br />Initial Reclamation -portal bench, <br />bench access road, lower stockpile, <br />and Pond No.1 10.2 acres <br />Final Reclamation -Pond Nos. 4 <br />and 5 0.6 acres <br />Because the soil surveys conducted on the site indicate that the existing <br />disturbed soils are suitable plant growth media, and because the disturbed area is less <br />than 40 acres, the Blue Ribbon Mine was reclaimed and vegetated using existing <br />materials with sufficient amendments to achieve adequate reestablishment of <br />vegetation to meet the requirements of the DMG and the landowner's postmining land <br />use objectives (wildlife habitat).
