Additional Pages
2009 Annual Report
Daniels Sand Pit #2
M-1973-007-SG
Continental Materials Corporation
Anniversary Date: January 7
Overview of Permit Year: During the 2008 operating year mining activity was at about an average pace. An
amendment was approved to include plans for the highway project, add a small parcel, consolidate the Little
Johnson Amendment into a single document, and include other plan changes.
Annual Report Maps: The annual report map is now based upon the new mining plan map, Exhibit C.
Affected Lands: The amount of affected land is similar to last year. There was a small increase in the affected
land, but, for the most part, the operation remains as was reported last year.
Revegetation: The site is stable and is not subject to erosion. No revegetation was done in the last year.
Expected Activity (2009): Mining activity in 2009 is difficult to predictable at this point. With the economic
downturn affecting construction rather severely it is hard to tell how much need for sand will exist. Additional
extraction is expected to slightly expand the current mining area slightly to the west. Work should begin on
excavating the east-west corridor south of the highway, but with economic conditions presenting considerable
difficulty in predicting needs it is not known how far that will get in 2009.
Bonding: This operation is covered by a self bond.
Continental Materials 2009 Annual Report M-1973-007-SG Daniels Sand Pit #2 Page 1 of 1
