H OFFICE of ARCHAEOLOGY and HISTORIC PRESERVATION
January 7, 2009
r"
Marcia L. A copy of that concurrence letter is attached for your reference.
However, we greatly appreciate your follow-up as it appears that while we have the associated site
forms for the sites recorded during the block survey, the report was misplaced. We now have a copy
of the report, which indicates that adequate cultural resource inventory has been conducted in the area
of the Elk Creek and Sanborn Creek Mine, and that a finding of no historic properties affected is
appropriate for the proposed activities associated with the subject Technical Revision Application No.
60 (M-60) Bear Creek Fansite Facility.
Should unidentified archaeological resources be discovered during the course of the project, work must
be interrupted until the resources have been evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic
Places eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation with our office.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment. If we may be of further assistance, please contact Shina
duVall, Section 106 Compliance Manager, at (303) 866-4674 or shina.duvallc@chs.state.co.us.
Sincerely,
Edward C.
