<br />of the Delta County Independent; that the same is a weekly news-
<br />paper printed, in whole or in part, and published in the County
<br />of Delta, State of Colorado, continuously and uninterruptedly in
<br />said County of Delta for a period of more than fifty-two consecu-
<br />tive weeks prior to the first publication of the annexed legal notice

<br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety a
<br />complete application for the renewal
<br />of a valid existing permit to conduct
<br />mining in Colorado for its Bowie No. 1
<br />Mine permit No.'C-1981-038.
<br />The Bowie No. 1 Mine is located
<br />inDelta County, approximately four
<br />(4) miles north of Paonia, CO. The
<br />Bowie No. 1 Mine loadout, located in -----
<br />Delta County approximately one,mile
<br />east of Paonia, CO south of State
<br />Highway 133. The surface facili-
<br />ties, located, north of the North Fork
<br />of the Gunnison River, are located
<br />in portions of Sections 23 and 24,
<br />Township 13 South Range 92 West;
<br />and Section 29, Township 13 South,
<br />Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. The
<br />mine permit area is located on the
<br />U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute
<br />Bowie and Gray Reservoir, Colorado
<br />Quadrangle maps within the following
<br />sections.

<br />Sections: 1, 2, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
<br />15, 22, 23, 24 and 25

<br />containing 8,670 acres more or
<br />less.
<br />The Bowie No. 1 Mine permit area
<br />contains 8,670 acres of land, 6,752
<br />acres of private surface and 1,918
<br />acres of Federal surface. Private,
<br />minerals within the proposed permit
<br />area encompass 1,433 acres with
<br />Federal minerals accounting for the
<br />balance of 7,237 acres.
<br />A copy of the proposed renewal
<br />application is available for pub-
<br />lic inspection at the Paonia Public
<br />Library, 140 Grand Avenue, Paonia,
<br />CO, and at the offices of the Division
<br />of Reclamation, Mining and Safety..
