Fall 2008 Subsidence and Geologic Field Observations
Box Canyon, Apache Rocks, and South of Divide Mining Areas
•
lie
Figure 33. Southwestward view of the area south of Monument Dam showing the extent of
material removal (see also Figure 36).
5.12 Traverse L-L'
Traverse L-L' is along the florse GUICh road trom the Cork in the Dn Fork read (east of
Minnesota Reservoir) northward to the lork that leads to Apache Rocks (westward) and Svlvester
• Gulch (eastward). Two small slumps have historically been observed along the east (cutbank)
side of the road along the northern end of this traverse. Due to the lack of recent nlinins:
activities in this area and the drier conditions during the summer and fall. these slumps showed
no renewed signs of activity since our spring 2008 field visit.
new drill road off of the Horse Gulch road was noted during this fall field visit. This road
accesses two ne,.v MDW drill pads of the western end of Longwall Panel FI. This road was
given the designation Traverse L 1-F, l' and is discussed in the next section of this report.
No subsidence related observations were obscrvcd alone this traverse.
0
5.13 Traverse L1-L1'
This traverse represents a ne\v drill road to N1DW drill pads E1-8 and Fl-11.5 as accessed front
horse Gulch road (Traverse L-L'). At the tinge of our field visit. drilling was occurring oil the
F'1-8 pad (Figure 14).
831-032.790 Wright Water Engineers, Inc
December 2008
