DRMS File# ti11-1995-035. 'Fhe site is located <br />approximately 1.5 miles \yest ofthc town of Finlnath. Colorado in I.annier County. I..lared Ebert ofthc Colorado <br />Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety conducted the inspection. Ms. Fracc? Frybonl of'Conncll Resources. Inc. <br />accompanied nu on the inspection. <br />In April of'2008. Connell Resources requested a full site release fir the Wellington Dtmils Pit, and the site \\as inspected <br />in May of that year. Fhe release was denied because of inadequate perennial yegctat101l cover 1001111d around the southern <br />portion of the reservoir. Russian olive trees were present on the site. and metal tanks'relusc \\cre also located on the site. <br />-pop <br />Since then. it appears that the operator has seeded and mulched the southern portion ol'the reservoir (See Figures 1 c ±). <br />Ilo,,\ever, the vegetation has not established enough fix the site to be released. File metal tanks and refuse have not been <br />removed from the permit area-. they limc been moved to a spat just north west ol'the main entrance. The Russian olive <br />trees are still present at various locations at the site, prinlarily on the \Ncstern side ofthe permit area near the "Arthur <br />Lateral Ditch". For these reason;. the full release is denied. <br />At this time, the operator has a weed management plan in place to guide the treatment of the Russian olive trees. It is <br />recommended that the operator locate and treat the Russian olive trees within the permit boundary in accordance \\ ith <br />their \\ced management plan to stem the spread of Russian olive trees within the permit area. Also, according to the <br />Technical Revision W letter (Dated July 10°i 2008) submitted to the Division, the metal tanks and refuse \aerc to have <br />been removed from the site: howc\ cr. as stated above this task has not been completed. The site \\ ill not he release if the <br />tanks and refuse are still located \\ ithin the permit area. <br />Also, the Division of Watcr Resources submitted a letter to the Division in regards to the apprn\ed substitute \\ater suppl.\ <br />plan fir this site. According to the letter, the operator must be able t0 demonstrate that all "lagged stream depletions" <br />have been replaced. Floc site \\ ill not be released until the 11vision of Reclamation Mining and Safct` reccires <br />documentation from the operator that they have complied with the L)I\ ision of Water Resources requirements. <br />l=il'ure _'.)
