III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br /> during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br /> and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br /> This was a Partial Inspection of the Hamilton Mine conducted by Marcia Talvitie of the Colorado <br /> DRMS on 31-Dec-2008 10:45 a.m. The operator was not represented during the inspection. The <br /> weather was clear and cold. <br /> Signs and Markers <br /> The Mine Identification Sign is clearly visible at the turnoff to the mine (Figure 1) <br /> Roads <br /> The ground was covered with a few inches of snow, as were the roads. The road was passable <br /> to Pond A. Access to Pond B and Mine Area 3 was not attempted. <br /> Fish and Wildlife <br /> A section of the barbed wire perimeter fence had been removed from the southwestern corner <br /> of Mine Area 1. Wildlife (deer and possibly elk) tracks were visible in the snow, passing through <br /> the opening in the fence (Figure 2). Numerous other tracks were observed throughout the area, <br /> including rabbit and possibly coyote. <br /> This concludes the December 2008 inspection report for the Hamilton Mine. <br /> Hamilton Mine C-1991-078 31-Dec-2008 <br />
