Bowie <br />Resources, LLC is proposing to drill <br />two exploration holes, which will <br />determine if the old mine workings <br />are flooded and will assist in the <br />determination of'the remaining coal <br />reserves within the Bowie No. 1 Mine <br />- - ---permit= area. The project involJ€S" <br />upgrading approximately 1.1 miles of <br />- light use road, constructing 0.1 miles <br />of nbw road and the construction <br />of two drill pads. Drill rig and crew <br />access will be from SH 133 to <br />Stevens Gulch Road. The new and <br />upgraded light use roads and two <br />drill pads will disturb approximately <br />2.3 acres. Reclamation will consist of <br />restoring the drill pads, narrowing the <br />upgraded road, reclaiming the new <br />road, and seeding. The Bowie No. 1 <br />Mine portals will not be reactivated. <br />The Bowie No. 1 Mine is an <br />underground coal mine located <br />in Delta County, approximately 3 <br />miles north of Paonia, Colorado. <br />Coal interest is Federal and private, <br />and the surface affected is Federal <br />and private land. The permit area <br />encompasses approximately <br />8,670.00 acres. <br />This proposed decision is based on <br />a finding that the proposed operation <br />will comply with all requirements of <br />the Colorado Surface Coal Mining <br />Reclamation Act, Section 3433101, <br />et seq., C.R.S., and the regulations <br />promulgated thereunder. <br />Copies of the proposed decision, <br />including stipulations, are on file for <br />public inspection at the Colorado <br />Division of Reclamation, . Mining <br />and Safety, Room 215, Centennial <br />Building, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Denver, Colorado` 80203. Persons. <br />-with an interest that may. be adversely . <br />affected by the proposed decision <br />may request a formal hearing before <br />the Mined Land Reclamation Board <br />on the proposed decision.
