(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1984-052
INSPECTION DATE: 12/22/2008
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS THM
This inspection was conducted as part of the nonnal monitoring program established by the Colorado Division of
Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The Debeque Gravel Pit is located south of Debeque, Colorado off of the frontage
road to the west of Interstate 70. Both Mr. and Mrs. Latham were present along with four representatives of
Kirkland Construction, RLLP.
The mine identification and sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with rule 3.1.12.
The sign is located at the gate of the access road and in clear view. The pen-nit boundaries are clearly defined by
fences that surround the perimeter of the mine.
The purpose of the inspection was to discuss a future technical revision that would change both the mining and
reclamation plans. The proposed technical revision would modify the mine phase sequence, relocate the processing
area and expand the area of exposed ground water.
The site was not operating during the inspection. No equipment was observed within the permit area during the
inspection. A stockpile of material was located at the west end of the permit area.
No evidence of offsite damage or erosion was observed during the inspection
Photos that show the conditions observed during the inspection are included at the end of this report.
No problems or violations were noted or observed during the December 22, 2008 inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Travis Marshall at the Division of Reclamation, Mining
and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone
no. 970-241.2042.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Thomas & Gin;er Latham
OPERATOR: Thomas & Ginger Latham
STREET: 1915 Highwgy 6
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Debegue CO 81630
cc:
?
