Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on May 15, 2007, an application to renew an <br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at Blue Ribbon Mine was considered complete for the purposes <br />of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the <br />Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />MINREC, Inc. proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located <br />approximately 8 miles Northeast of Paonia, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Section 2, Township 13 South, Range 91 West; and portions of Section 35, Township 12 South, Range <br />91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Somerset. <br />In Permit Renewal No. 5, Minrec Inc is proposing to renew its permit at the Blue Ribbon Mine for another five <br />year term. Mining ceased in 1985 and the mine site has been reclaimed. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Delta County Commissioners, _501 <br />Palmer, Delta, CO 81416.
