Sodium Hydroxide is a store separately chemical. The neutralization of this chemical
can be accomplished by cleaning up spilled powder and then washing area with dilute
hydrochloric or sulfuric acids until neutral PH is accomplished then cleaning the area
with water.
Sodium chloride is common salt; storage is general and clean up can be done with a
shovel and a broom.
Please see attached letter from CDS labs dated 1-7-09; in which it outlines how larger
spills and clean up would be handled using "UNIVERSAL SORBENT-BULK". There
will be a supply of this compound stored on site to deal with any large cleanup problems.
Sincerely,
Harold E. Luzar, Jr.
12-06-2008
