i
Facility Name: Camilletti Pit
D.M.G. Permit#: M-87-164
S.W.M.P. Administrator: Art Morrissey
Plan Updated: June 12, 2000
Location: E 1/2 of Section 11, T6N, R88W, a P.M., Routt County,
Colorado
Receiving Waters: Internal Pit Drainage. Possible runoff during large storm
and snowmelt events to intermittent creek located northwest
portion of site. .
1.0 Site Description
The site is located approximately two miles east of Hayden, Colorado and accessed by Routt County
Road 51A. The county road provides access to the northwest comer of the site. A dirt and gravel
access road extends from RCR 51A to the pit. Between the pit and RCR 51A is a small scale-house.
The site generally slopes towards the pit.
2.0 Description of Operation
less
The site is being developed for aggregate mining and processing. . The minng acres. Thereaii an
additional
than 10 acres with plans to expand the pit to approximately 21 disturbance of less than 1 acre for the access road.
Crushing and Screening facilities will be located on site during limited periods. There are currently
no plans for an asphalt plant, aatt, concrete bbatch plant or wash plant at the etween the pit and RCR 5 A site. A scale and small scale-
house are located on t
3.0 Site Drainage
The pit is above the ground water table and has predominantly internal drainage. Consequently, pit
dewatering is not necessary. During large storm or snow melt events it is possible that some runoff
will occur from the pit into an intermittent creeWdrainage ditch located in the northwest portion of the
site.
4.0 Potential Pollutant Sources/Material Inventory & BMP's
The most effective control is to limit the amount of potential pollution in the first place. In a sand and
gravel mining operation the large and ongoing site disturbance causes sediment pollution of storm
water. Consequently every effort specific has been made to list of Potential 'Pollutant Sources follows in Table 4.1that
revegetate as soon as practical. A also summarizes the associated Control Measures and Best Management Practices (BMP) for each.
