Box 966 <br />Castle Rock CO <br />MLRB Permit # M-1983-089 <br />December 14, 2008 <br />Disturbed Area; <br />Currently the Mine Site of 41A is divided into two areas. <br />The operation area (trailer, roads, 3 stockpiles, and settling ponds). <br />The Mining Area (22.84 Acres) is currently disturbed as follows. <br />The mining is progressing from the Northwest corner to the East along <br />the Northernmost boundary in a 400' wide strip. The 2009 season will <br />see the completion of mining in the Northwest corner. As material is <br />removed we backfill the area with overburden. The fill material will <br />follow the mining with a hole just big enough to separate the current <br />mining operation from the advancing fill. 2009 will see the end of the <br />"horseshoe shape" pit and the cut will be one slit as we move from nor111 <br />to south, on the south side of the current Island that is reclaimed fill. <br />The first 2 A is backfilled to rough contour with the pit area of 3.2A <br />proceeding ahead of the fill 1 A is striped preceding the Pit another 3 <br />Acres is in various states of grubbing, topsoiling etc. The remaining <br />17.04 A is covered with stockpiles and is relatively flat, and approxima?c <br />the final contour. 60% of the operations area has no vegetation. <br />Basically 3.5 Acres is heavily disturbed as to contours with the <br />remaining area flat with little vegetation. Topsoil is being piled at <br />strategic locations to facilitate revegatation with a minimum of moving, <br />5 areas with soil piles are noted on the attached map in addition to the
