Mine ID# or Prospecting ID# M-1988-048
Inspection Date: 12/22/2008
Inspector's Initials: ECS
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection conducted by Eric Scott of DRMS for the Carr Gravel Resource site. DRMS met with
operator representatives Lynn Mayer-Shults and Rick Riley of L.G. Everist at the site at approximately 1145. The site entrance is
located on the south side of Weld County 126 RD approximately 500 feet east of the Union Pacific railroad tracks on the east side of
the Town of Carr. The required postings were present at the site entrance and the boundary markers for the permit area were observed
to be in place.
This site is currently an active 112c sand and gravel operation. The active mining at the site at the time of the inspection was occurring
near the south side of Section 35 near the center of the site. There has been excellent progress with concurrent reclamation at this site,
and the site appeared, in general, to be well run and in compliance.
There was one problem noted as a result of the inspection, and that is that the Division records for the site, in particular the mine plan
and reclamation maps, are no longer current. Especially with respect to the 110 acres amended to the NW corner of the permit in May
of 2000. Please submit updated mine plan and reclamation maps to the division so that our records can be kept current. These
updated maps will not need to be submitted as a Technical Revision.
No other issues or problems were noted during the inspection. This concluded the inspection and DRMS left the site at approximately
1230.
DRMS will likely recalculate the reclamation bond for the site in the near future. The current permit states that a maximum of 108
acres will be disturbed at any one time. This 108 acres would include any disturbed but unreclaimed areas including roads, processing
area, stockpile areas and active mining areas. Unless other information is provided, the Division will assume this as the total area to be
bonded for reclamation. DRMS will also require information for the depth/volume of topsoil to be replaced, distance the topsoil will
need to be moved, any soil amendments to be utilized, and seed mix in order to make the bond calculation as accurate as possible.
I & E Contact Address
Lynn Mayer-Shults
LG Everist
7321E 88th Ave Ste 200
Henderson CO 80640
cc: ?
