4.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
This report combines recommendations from the 2006 and 2007 annual reports. These reports were not reviewed by the
Colorado Division of Mining Reclamation and Safety in prior years.
Recommended modifications to the analyte list are shown below and are based on: 1) results to-date; 2) likely groundwater
contaminates originating from similar operations to the Lupton Lakes mining operation; and 3) that dewatering water will now
be discharged into the South Platte River and not recharged into the groundwater.
• Standard Parameters will remain the same.
• Remove chloride, carbonate, bicarbonate, magnesium, iron, sodium, fluoride, and calcium from the Drinking Quality
Parameters.
• Remove total phosphate, mercury, fecal coliform, chlorinated pesticides, and herbicides from the Extended
Parameter list.
Well CRMW02 will be removed from the sampling list since it is not accessible. Four upgradient wells (CRMW04, 09, 40, &
42) and three downgradient wells (CRMW01, 06, & 16) will still be sampled. The 2009 groundwater monitoring schedule
follows:
Table 1: 2009 Groundwater Monitoring Schedule
Sampling
Event
Date Water
Levels Sampling Locations
Stnd1/DQP2
Extended3 Reporting
Quarterly Annually
09-1 Jan-09 X 1, 4, 6, 9,16, 40, 42 None X
09-2 Apr-09 X 1, 4, 6, 9, 16, 40,42 1, 4, 6, 40 X
09-3 Jul-09 X 1, 4, 6, 9,16, 40, 42 None X
09-4 Oct-09 X 1, 4, 6, 9,16, 40, 42 1, 4, 6, 40 X
Notes: 1.
