2005 Edna Mine Vegetation Sampling Report
' Additionally, two reference areas (snowberry/sage vegetation community and Oak
mountain shrub vegetation community) were sampled for cover and production to
' establish vegetation bond release standards. The snowberry/sage vegetation community
represents 83% of the pre-mine disturbance. The oak mountain shrub vegetation
community represents 17% of the pre-mine disturbance. Appropriate vegetation
' parameters for each reclaimed unit were compared to the reference areas' weighted
mean herbaceous cover and production values.
I' 1.3. Summarized Results
' Results of the vegetation sampling in 2005 are summarized below in Table 1-2. All
sampled units met or exceeded the appropriate Bonded Reclaimed Areas & Vegetation
Performance Standards. It should be noted that data from "West Ridge BRU: No-
Topsoil" and "Moffat BRU: No-Topsoil" were combined for sampling purposes as
' detailed in the sampling plan.
Table 1-2: 2005 Edna Mine Vegetation Results Summarv
Sampling West Ridge Moffat BRU: West Ridge BRU
Parameter BRU: Topsoiled' Topsoiled' & Moffat BRU:
No-Topsoil
Cover Standard 24.1 24.1 47.0
)
(0h 2005 Mean 55.1 52.9 41.6
o
Standard Passed YES YES YES
Production Standard 80.2 80.2 - n/a
(g/m2) 2005 Mean 126.5 160.9 n/a
Standard Passed YES YES n/a
b Densit
Sh _ Standard n/a 1000 n/a
y
ru
(stems/ac) 2005 Mean n/a 2119 n/a

Standard Passed n/a YES n/a
Min 5 Species Min 5 Species 90% graminoids'i
Standard between 3 & 40% between 3 & 40% 5% forbs3
Rel.
