Jim's Diary
Nov. 3, Conveyor started
Nov. 5, Served papers to Eric and Dan giving 30 day notice. Discussed concerns re:
irrigation, fencing, pond reclamation and revegetation of trees and shrubs.
Note: We learned during the summer from Eric that they did not have the right scale to
the slopes of the pond and would need to redo to satisfy DMG.
Nov. 6, told Dan about fences on north-south of island under conveyor and that trash
from the conveyor construction and the fire was dumped in lake and covered by the
material being added to the slope.
Nov. 12, started selling gravel. Equipment removed from the bottom of the lake, appears
slopes are finished and called Dan Knox to report tamarisk are still in the bottom of the
lake. He claimed to have ripped them out with a cat and trackhoe but Jean informed him
they are alive. Jean explained the spraying process to Dan and he promised to follow up
and report back to us.
Nov. 12, LaFarge contractor started reclaiming the east wetlands.
Nov. 18, 19, 20, 21 no work on reclamation or east wetlands
Nov. 24, nothing done
Nov. 25, nothing done. Called Dan to ask about sprinkling system. He wanted to charge
up to see if there are any leaks. Needs to wait until spring now as it will freeze and break
if not properly maintained.
Tamarisk - Dan told us they will pull by hand. Jim suggested cleaning area with hoe or
equipment and hauling the dirt and weed to an area where the tamarisk and weeds could
be dealt with. Also bank of lake where weeds are on the bank. Dan said he'd clean
weeds off and put topsoil on that area so it can be grassed in.
East wetlands - to meet Monday (Dec. 1) and discuss rip-rap and final leveling of
wetlands. Will call Monday a.m. and tell me what time and discuss all areas that need to
be addressed.
Nov. 26, nothing done
Nov. 27, nothing done
