(nj /118 INSPECTORS INITIALS: _$K_ <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />The Division conducted a bi monthly winter season monitoring inspection of the site on <br />12/01/08. The area had received measurable snow the past few days which was evident at the <br />time of the inspection. <br />Present during the inspection was Mr. Mark Vanoni of CC&V. The inspection began at the <br />East Cresson Back fill. The pit backfilling is continuing and is expected to be completed <br />with in the next few months, with reclamation grading to continue soon after. <br />Inspected the main Cresson pit area, the southern portion of the pit was being actively <br />mined at the time of the inspection. <br />Inspected the Iron Clad, Globe Hill area no problem noted. These areas comprised of the <br />shop and equipment storage areas and as approved in Amendment 9, the back filled pit areas <br />will be re-mined as part of the North Cresson mining area, which includes the Schist <br />Island. <br />Inspected the Squaw Gulch overburden storage area, surface water drainage control <br />structures for the haul road were found to be in good repair. <br />Inspected the Phase IVC enhanced perimeter ditch along Phase IV C. The entire length of <br />the ditch was walked and inspected. It was covered with ice and packed snow. No solution <br />flow outside the protected zone was observed. <br />Inspected the phase I,II,III&IV LECAH pad areas and recorded the following readings from <br />the high and low volume solution collection transducers. <br />Phase I high Volume solution collection transducer # 1 was recorded at 46.5, # 2 was at <br />52.6 and # 3 was at 52.0. Piezometer for the pond was at 57.0 feet. Low volume transducer <br /># 1 was recorded at.35 and # 2 was at.32. <br />Phase II High Volume solution collection transducer #4 was recorded at 41.7 # 5 was at <br />31.6 and # 6 was at 41.6. Low volume solution collection transducer # 1 was recorded at.12 <br />and # 2 was at.36. Piezomter for the pond was at 41.7 feet. <br />Phase IV high volume solution collection transducer # 7 was recorded at 41.2,# 8 was at <br />40.8 and # 9 was at 41.8 and # 10 was at 42.0 . Low volume transducer # 1 was recorded <br />at13.0 and # 2 was at 15.4 inches of hydrostatic head. <br />Inspected the external pond, it was holding what appeared to be a partially frozen water, <br />not much change since the last inspection. Low volume solution collection transducers for <br />the pond were measured at 13.9 and # 2 was at 12.1. <br />Inspected the under drain area, both the south and 4 inch pipes were discharging. All <br />lower ponds were holding some snow and a small amount of frozen water in addition to show <br />at the lowest pond. <br />Inspected AG1.5, IT WAS DRY.
