The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division) has scheduled three public
meetings to occur in San Luis regarding the above referenced application to amend a mining and
reclamation permit. Security for each of the public meetings is scheduled to be overseen by the Costilla
County Sheriff's Office. However, the Division wishes to inform the San Luis Police Department of the
dates, times, location and purpose of these meetings.
The meetings are scheduled for April 15, 2008, commencing at 4:30 PM and concluding by 9:00 PM; May
28, 2008, commencing at 9:00 AM and concluding by 5:00 PM; and June 11-12, 2008, commencing at
9:00 AM and concluding by 9:00 PM. All three meetings will occur at the gymnasium of the Centennial
School District R-1 at 909 North Main Street, San Luis, Colorado.
The June 11-12, 2008 meeting will include the Formal Board Hearing for the application, where the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board (the Board) will consider the application with objections and may
make a decision to approve or deny the application. During the two-day Board meeting on June 11th and
12th, the Board may consider other mining related issues in addition to the amendment application from
Battle Mountain Resources.
The May 28, 2008 meeting is the Pre-hearing Conference, designed to prepare all parties and interested
persons for the Formal Board Hearing in June.
The April 15, 2008 meeting is an informal meeting, intended to introduce and explain the Division's review
process of the amendment application and to answer any questions the public may have.
