PLATTE SAND & GRAVEL, LLC
P.O. Box 180
LITTLETON, COLORADO 80160
January 23, 2008
CERTIFIED RETURN
Division of Minerals and Geology RECEIPT REQUESTED
Mr. Carl Mount
North Team Supervisor
1313 Sherman St, Room #215
Denver, CO 80203 RECEIVED
Dear Mr. Mount; JAN 31 2008 11?
RE: Platte Sand & Gravel, LLC - S&H Mine Division of Reclamation,
M.L.R.B. Permit # M-2000-158 Mining and Safety
Partial release request (;I-f')?/ N 41
This letter is a formal request for a release of parts of the
reclamation responsibility for the above referenced mine. The
slurry wall construction and certification have been completed on
the Sharkey's Lake area as approved in the reclamation plan.
Attached is a copy of the certification letter from the Colorado
State Engineers office. Certification of the slurry wall means the
we can have this released from our bond requirements.
Bonding for the Longhorn Lake slurry wall and use of the 100
acre storage area in Bluff Lake is no longer needed at this time.
We understand that by releasing this portion of the bond it will be
necessary to increase the bond at a later date. We will do this
prior to beginning the slurry wall construction around Longhorn
Lake.
We request the Division re-analyse the bond and at a minimum
reduce it by the amounts posted for slurry wall construction on the
two reservoir areas, remove the 100 acres of reclamation required
for the area disturbed during the construction of the walls and
adjust the incidental costs. Attached is an estimated reclamation
activities list prepared by Steve O'Brian of Environment, Inc.
outlining the reclamation work that is needed at this time for your
use during your bond analysis.
Attached are the items required by Rule 4.16. This letter
serves as the written notice request, an affidavit stating reclama-
tion is complete in the area we are requesting the release for and
the current landowner information list. Thanks for your help on
this and if you have any questions please call me at the above
number or Steve O'Brian at (303) 423-7297.
kes-NcKfV\\ ly Submitted,
R ky H hneider
Ge eral ner
cc Enviro ent, Inc. - w/ enclosures
file
enclosures
