Cattany <br />Division Director <br /> Natural Resource Trustee <br />Re: Proposed Decision <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 5 (RN-5) <br />Munger Canyon Mine (Permit No. C-1981-020) <br />Dear Garfield County Commissioners: <br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is proposing to Approve <br />with conditions a renewal application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The application was submitted by <br />CAM Mining, LLC on May 2, 2007, for the Munger Canyon Mine. The mine is inactive and largely reclaimed; <br />activities under the renewal permit will be limited to reclamation, monitoring, and maintenance. No <br />further coal extraction, waste disposal or other mining activity is proposed or approved. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal <br />hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication of this notice by the <br />Division in the The Daily Sentinel. <br />The underground mine is located approximately 18 miles North of Loma, Colorado, in Garfield County. A <br />reclaimed rail loadout located '/Z mile east of Loma, in Mesa County, is included in the permit. The permit area is <br />further described as follows: <br />Mine site: Portions of Sections 27, 28, and 29, T7S, R102W, 6th P.M., all in Garfield County. <br />Rail Loadout: Portions of Section 34, T2N, R3 W, Ute PM, in Mesa County. <br />Portions of Section 3, TIN, R3W, Ute PM, in Mesa County. <br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the above address, as <br />well as the Division's Grand Junction Office (101 South 3rd, Suite 301, Grand Junction, CO 81501), and at the <br />Mesa County Clerk and Recorder.
