NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety proposes to Approve with conditions Permit <br />Renewal Application No. 5 (RN-5), submitted by CAM Mining, LLC for a coal mining permit at the <br />Munger Canyon Mine (Permit No. C-1981-020). The mine is inactive and largely reclaimed; the <br />proposed renewal will allow for continued reclamation, monitoring, and maintenance at the site. No <br />further coal extraction, waste disposal or other mining activity is proposed or approved. <br />The Munger Canyon Mine is an underground mine located in Garfield County, approximately 18 miles <br />north of Loma, Colorado, Colorado. A reclaimed loadout facility'/2 mile east of Loma, in Mesa County is <br />included in the Munger Canyon Permit. Coal interest at this underground mine is Federal, and the surface <br />to be affected is Private land. The permit area encompasses approximately 1,028.00 acres. <br />This proposed decision is based on a finding that the proposed operation will comply with all <br />requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34-33-101 et seq., C.R.S., <br />and the regulations promulgated thereunder. <br />A copy of the "Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance", including any stipulations, is on file for <br />public inspection at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215 Centennial <br />Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, as well as the Division's Grand Junction office, <br />101 South P, Suite 301, Grand Junction, CO 81501, and at the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder's <br />Office, 544 Rood, Grand Junction Colorado. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by <br />the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on the <br />proposed decision. Such request must be made within thirty (30) days of the initial publication of this <br />notice, must be in writing, and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the request and the <br />objections to the proposed decision.
