Cattany <br />Colorado/Gunnison Basin Office Division Director <br />400 Rood Avenue, Room 142 Natural Resource Trustee <br />Grand Junction, CO 81501-2563 <br />Re: Munger Canyon Mine (Permit No. C-1981-020) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 5 (RN-5) <br />Dear Sir/Madam: <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on May 11, 2007, an application to renew an <br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Munger Canyon Mine was considered complete for the <br />purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act <br />and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />CAM Mining, LLC proposes to continue Underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located <br />approximately 18 miles North of Loma, Colorado in Munger Canyon (mine site) and '/2 mile east of Loma (rail <br />loadout site). The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Mine site: Portions of Sections 27, 28, and 29, all in Garfield County. <br />Rail Loadout: Portions of Section 34, T2N, R3W, Ute PM, in Mesa County. <br />Portions of Section 3, TIN, R3W, Ute PM, in Mesa County. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Howard Canyon & Garvey <br />Canyon (Mine Area) and Mack (Loadout Area). <br />This application would allow for renewal of a valid existing permit for the Munger Canyon Mine and Loma <br />Loadout, Coal Mining and Reclamation Permit No. C-1981-020. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder, 544 <br />Rood, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
