DRMS representative met with Connie Davis of Aggregate Industries at the site at approximately
1030. The site entrance is located near on the east side of 83rd Ave (County Road 27) to the south of the
intersection of 83rd and "O" Street. Properties to be amended to the permit area include the 75 acre "Cell 4"
area on the NE corner of O Street and 83,d Ave, and the 73.5 acre "Cell 2" area on the SW corner of the
intersection of O Street and 71st Ave (County Road 29).
Site conditions in the Cell 4 area appeared as depicted on the map provided in the amendment application
with the exception of a new oil/gas facility in the far NW corner of the Cell 4 area. The figures and
accompanying information will need to be updated to reflect this new facility. The area appears to have
been used as a cultivated hayfield and/or grazing area. There are numerous utility lines and a ditch lateral that
will need to be relocated before this area can be mined as planned.
Site conditions in the Cell 2 area appeared to be as depicted on the maps provided with the amendment
application. The area has recently been used as a cultivated/hayfield and grazing area. Notices were posted
as required for both amendment locations.
There is a strong possibility that Weld County will be re-routing or widening O Street in the future, so the location
and dimensions of the underpass between the Cell 4 area and the existing process area is still undetermined.
DRMS advised the operator that they needed to attempt to obtain agreements with ALL structure owners
within 200 feet of the proposed mining limits and they stated that they were already pursuing these
agreements.
The vegetation on site was in good condition, and was relatively free of noxious weeds. There was no visible
evidence of features of interest or active surface water drainage features other than those already shown on
the map or previously mentioned.
Aggregate Industries took DRMS on a brief tour of the rest of the active site including a finished reclaimed
wetlands area. The rest of the active site appeared to be in good order, and the reclaimed wetlands area
south of the Cell 3 area looked excellent. The only issue noted was some crushed and discarded culvert pipe in
the unfinished wetland reclamation area to the SE of Cell 3. The Aggregate Industries representative said that
she would have the mine foreman remove it and dispose of it correctly.
This concluded the inspection and DRMS left the site at approximately 1150.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Connie Davis
OPERATOR: Aggregate Industries
STREET: 1707 Cole Rlvd #100
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Gnldpn CCU 804nl
cc: t CE
F BL
F FS
F HW
F HMWMD (CH)
F SE
r WQCD (CH)
F OTHER
