Mr. Berhan Keffelew <br />Re: 'Parkdale.Quarry, Amendment-#1; Adequacy Letter Response <br />January 28, 2008: ` <br />Page 6 of 6 <br />7) Dry mining will be achieved by excavating dewatering trenches along the active <br />mining face and the mining highwall near the processing facility.. Water will be pumped'. <br />from the dewatering trenches into either Tallahassee Creek or the Arkansas River. <br />Locations of the trenches and pumping. will vary as mining progresses. Front Range <br />Aggregates commits that no kind of wet mining will take place. <br />8) According to the Army Corps of Engineers, the_Corps does not-have jurisdiction over <br />these ephemeral drainages. A memo to file regarding Corps jurisdiction is included as <br />Exhibit V.8. The settling pond details are identified in the final Drainage Report. <br />9) Peak flow from the drainages to the pit total 70.5 cfs and details are included in the <br />final Drainage Report. The pump to dewater. the drainage flow is a centrifugal', diesel <br />fueled, trailer mounted pump. <br />. VI) EXHIBIT L Reclamation Cost Estimate <br />Parkdale Quarry, Amendment #l: Exhibit L Bond Estimate has been revised and attached <br />to this letter as Exhibit VI. <br />VII) EXHIBIT S Permanent Man Made Structures <br />Front Range Aggregates has coordinated anagreement with Aquila Power 'Company <br />regarding potential mining impacts to existing power poles. The agreement references <br />the relocation of the power line to south of the mining area. A copy of this agreement is <br />included as Exhibit VII. Additionally,. Front Range Aggregates will coordinate an <br />agreement with Mark Brown regarding potential mining impacts to permitted water <br />wells.
