EXHIBIT A - LEGAL DESCRIPTION <br />The Monogram Mine site is approximately 11 miles west of Naturita, Colorado in sections 18 <br />and 17 of Township 46 North, Range 18 West. The mine is reached by travelling northwest <br />from Naturita on Colorado State Highway 141 about 2.4 miles, then turning left or southwest at <br />the intersection of Highway 90. Highway 90 goes west-north-west through the Paradox Valley. <br />At approximately 8.5 miles County Road DD 19 intersects Highway 90 and provides access to <br />the public lands on Davis and Monogram Mesas. Turn left (south) and follow DD19 about 2 <br />miles to DD 16. Turn right (east) on DD 16 and after downhill hairpin turn flattens out and bends <br />northward, turn right on existing mining road and signs, referring to Exhibit A, Map A-1 <br />following and in Appendix K, Maps and Figures. <br />The legal description of the permit boundary follows. <br />Located within Section 17 & Section 18 of Township 46 N, Range 18 W, in the New Mexico <br />Principal Meridian: <br />• Beginning at a point whence the NE corner of section 18, T. 46 N., R. 17 W., <br />N.M.P.M. bears N. 34°57'49" E., 1708.33 ft. dist.; <br />• thence S. 60°00'30" E., 1467.66 ft. dist.; <br />• thence S. 30°00'00" W., 1200.00 ft. dist.; <br />• thence N. 60°00'00" W., 800.00 ft. dist.; <br />• thence S. 30°00'00" W., 100.00 ft. dist.; <br />• thence N. 60°00'00" W., 667.71 ft. dist.; <br />• thence N. 30°00'08" E., 601.15 ft. dist.; <br />• thence N. 60°01'30" W., 399.97 ft. dist.; <br />• thence N. 30°00'00" E., 698.81 ft. dist.; <br />• thence S. 60°00'00" E., 400.00 ft. dist., more or less, to the point of beginning. <br />Said permit contains 48.38 acres, more or less. <br />Monogram Mine - November 2008 <br />A-1
