•
20.0 EXHIBIT S - PERMANENT MAN-MADE STRUCTURES
An appropriate engineering evaluation is provided consistent with the requirements of
115(4) (e). There is no evidence that the proposed mining operation will adversely affect the
stability of any significant, valuable, or permanent manmade structure located within 200 feet
of the affected land. Per the Scott Cox report, recommendations (see appendices), minimum
setbacks from all permanent or manmade structures shall be based on a ratio of horizontal
distance to vertical distance of 3:1 with the vertical distance equal to the depth of bedrock in
the mined area.
There are a number of structures located within 200 feet of the proposed mining stages
including the following:
• A house and several out buildings (Stewart Residence) are located southwest of
• mining Stage 3.
• A house and several out buildings (Schroeder Property) are located north of Stage 5
and west of Stage 4.
• Kerr-McGee (Anadarko) gas well, associated tank batteries and gas lines located on
the subject property. See Map Exhibit C-1.
• Excel owns a high voltage power line that crosses the property in an east-west
direction.
• United Power owns a three-phase power line that is located along the east property
line of Morton Lakes (east property line of Holton Lakes). Presently, it is unclear if
there is any future need for this line. If it is determined to be of no further use to
Holton, or the adjacent property owner, the line will be removed. If the line is in
service during mining, the Applicant will seek authorization from United Power to
relocate the portion of the line along the west side of Morton Lakes mining Stages 2
and 3.
0
