Reclamation of the current mining extents would consist of completing the dike repairs, back
filling all disturbed slopes to 3H:1 V, dewatering the pit, and topsoiling and revegetating
disturbed areas down to 10 feet below the expected water surface. Excavated material from a 328
foot length of the riparian buffer and the bottom 4 feet of phase 1 would be used for both the dike
repair and backfilling of slopes to 3H:1 V. The use of material from these two areas means that
no fill has to be imported. A breakdown of costs is included below in the Current Conditions
Reclamation Cost Table.
Current Conditions Reclamation Cost Table
Item Description Cost
1 Dewaterin 74.45 acre-ft @ $58/acre-ft $ 4,317.91

2 Rip and reclaim access road along riparian buffer
1 day @ $170/day)
$ 170.00
3 Dike repair 37,894 CY @ $1.25/C $ 47,367.50

4 Backfilling phase 2 southern slope from vertical to 3H:1 V
107,834 CY @ $1.10/C
$ 172,162.89

5 Topsoiling slopes to a depth of 8" across 9.3 acres
10,003 CY @ $1.10/C
$ 11,002.93
6 Seeding wetland vegetation 1.4 acres @ $1100/acre $ 1,540.00
7 Seeding d land vegetation 14.4 acres @ $800/acre $ 11,520.00

8 Install boulders and armoring along river side of dike and
in gully on north end of dike
$ 8,000.00
9 Backfill sediment and 4,840 CY @ $1.10/C $ 4,840.00

10 Plant tree saplings within wetland fringe (200 saplings
6.00/sa lin
$ 1,200.00
Subtotal $ 262,121.23
DRMS overhead 21 % of cost $ 55,045.46
Total $ 317,166.69
The current mine conditions in the case of the Tri County pit are the higher cost in terms of
reclamation and therefore should be used as the worst case reclamation scenario for bond
calculation.
Tri County Technical Revision Sept 07 7
