2. Reclamation Cost Estimate
Reclamation cost is calculated based on the worst case reclamation scenario. Usually the worst
case reclamation is at the end of mine life. However, in the case of this operation a comparison
of the costs of both the end of mine life and the current pit conditions is necessary due to the
current pit conditions. Costs for each reclamation scenario have been calculated for comparison.
The costs for the end of mine life are in the End of Mine Life Reclamation Cost Table. End of
mine life reclamation would consist of large scale pit dewatering, pit slope backfilling,
topsoiling, and revegatation.
End of Mine Life Reclamation Cost Table
Item Description Cost
1 Dewaterin of entire it 118.88acre-ft $58/acre-ft $ 6,895.01

2 Backfilling slopes of phase 4 (31-1:11V to 10' below water
line, then 21-11:1V 74,485 CY $1.10/CY
$ 81,933.50

31 Topsoiling slopes to a depth of 8" in phase 4 (45,281 CY
@ $1.10/CY
$ 49,809.34
5 Seeding wetland vegetation (25.7 acres @ $1100/acre) $ 28,270.00
6 Seedin d and vegetation 7.0 acres $800/acre $ 5,600.00
subtotal $ 172,507.85
DRMS overhead 21% of cost $ 36,226.65
Total $ 208,734.50
Tri County Technical Revision Sept 07 8
