Nov l`4 2008 1:07PM 1-307-685-1344 p.3
• Page 2
November 14, 2008
into the cement slung of the open hole. A cement plug was affixed above the plug in the open hole
and the site was graded into the contours of the area with the backhoe. The disturbance was
seeded and hand raked with a mixture of high plains fescue. All casing and reclamation debris was
removed from the sites and the holes were marked with a "t-bar" fence post.
The slurry mixture consisted of approximately 5.5 gallons of water to each sack of type II cement
The pumping and mixing procedures were monitored by Pronghorn Geologic Services personnel,
along with Kerr Coal personnel at each well site.
Volume was calculated for an open drill hole and not the volume of the well casing. In each case the
open hole diameter was estimated to be 3 inches greater than the inside diameter of the monitor well
casing. In each instance, the actual slurry fill exceeded the calculated volume of the open hole.
I hope this narrative answers some of your questions and concerns. Please do not hesitate to
contact us at the above numbers if I have left out any details.
Thank you,
Glenn E.
